History

Katie Hern studied Fashion Design with European Studies at the University for the Creative Arts in Kent. She also trained in Fashion College in Paris and continues to gain inspiration from the chic simplicity and elegance of Parisian style as well as from vinatge fashion.

After graduating in 2007, Katie worked for London based designer Reem, designing and creating showpieces for both London and Tokyo fashion weeks and was heavily involved in the model casting and styling of the shows.

Katie gained experience with Ben de Lisi and Fashion Fringe winners Aminaka Wilmont before working for British Vogue where she assisted on high profile photo shoots with world renowned models, photographers and stylists.

Since returning to Swansea, Katie has worked as a Visual Merchandiser for Topshop and collaborated with well known local designers and stylists including Lara Johnson and Sascha Martini and has styled shoots for Swansea Life amongst others. She has also worked with jewellery designer Gill Clement in her beautiful store in Mumbles.

Katie got married to childhood sweetheart Jamie in September 2012 and their wedding (unconsciously) became a showcase for Katie’s creative talents. She gained recognition for her romantic inspired bridal designs and attention to detail. Following their wedding she received many orders for bridesmaid dresses, bridal gowns and veils which gave Katie the confidence to pursue her dream of opening a shop and the idea of UnDone was born.
